The weather forecast says that tomorrow will be a wonderful day: sun and clear blue skies! “What can we do?”
At only an hour’s drive from La Darbia you will discover an entirely different landscape; setting out from the gentle shores of Lake Orta you proceed in one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes of the entire Alpine chain.

Alpe Devero (1.630 m. above sea level) is easily accessible by car, but as soon as you get there, you had better forget about the car, because the use of motor vehicles is forbidden throughout the entire Devero Veglia Natural Park. To follow the paths and the roads of the beautiful Devero basin surrounded by a chain of mountains more than 3.000 meters high you will have to either walk or cycle.

A real paradise on earth, a continuous succession of little lakes, larch woods and green pastures where you can see the grazing cows whose milk is used for the production of “Bettelmatt”, one of the most famous cheeses in Italy.

One final suggestion: don’t miss the path that leads (in half an hour) to the Village of Crampiolo, a magical place where the hand of man has preserved a small group of stone houses, built according to the local architectural tradition.
