How wonderful... strolling in the sumptuous park of the ancient Della Porta-Bozzolo home: a "delightful villa" for a delightful day.

Someone is rolling along the slope of the large lawn, others have organized a picnic under a pergola of wisteria, children are running happily, still others are taking photographs posing on the scenic staircase. The wonderful park that surrounds the Villa Dalla Porta-Bozzolo hosts all with the typical generosity of the noble residences of the past.

And on a serene summer day there is really nothing better than walking in the wonderful garden among the flower beds or walking through the large frescoed halls of this ancient country house, located in the peaceful Valcuvia, a few kilometers from Varese and Lake Maggiore.

A residence with an agricultural soul with press and cellar to produce wine and a spinning mill for silkworms. But also an elegant and refined villa with halls and lounges, galleries, rococo-style decorations and precious furnishings, sumptuous four-poster beds and a rich library. Looking out the windows means admiring the monumental Italian garden, with terraces carved in stone that go up the hill to the fishpond and the path that leads to the panoramic belvedere.

In the Billiard Room, hanging on a wall, a rare example of "biribissi", an ancient and popular gambling game in vogue in the eighteenth century, is displayed, considered by many to be the ancestor of roulette. Oh yes... because the so-called "villas of delight", which were built by the aristocratic Lombard families, were places of leisure and pleasure, in which to retreat during the holiday periods, dedicating themselves to the pleasures of polite conversation, nature and play, all arts and music, in an atmosphere of refinement and good taste.

Even today this magnificent period residence appears full of life and charm, thanks to numerous events that it hosts at various times of the year, from workshops for children to culinary experiences, from guided visits to the artisan markets to the days of the camellias and exhibitions of poultry...
In short, it is always a pleasure to come to the villa, even just to walk to the top of the hill or to end the afternoon with an aperitif in the garden... there is an air of vacation and nobility... Seeing is believing!
