Everything revolves around the products that are born from our lands, and so we choose ingredients and make gastronomic choices consistent with what our land provides.
We are fortunate to belong to a region, Piedmont, that has made food its flagship and we never tire of looking for its absolute excellence.

We are not interested in fashions, but we are always looking for new ways to enhance the taste of tradition.
This is why we like to think of it as a “country restaurant”.

The Restaurant

Inserted in an old renovated farmhouse, the restaurant of La Darbia welcomes guests with a modern open-style kitchen. The internal dining-hall overlooks the large garden, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lake and Monte Rosa. The pergolas of the garden are waiting for you to enjoy an aperitif at sunset.

Matteo Monfrinotti

Only just turned thirty, but with a great deal of experience already under his belt, gained amongst starred restaurants and prestigious resorts. Matteo Monfrinotti passionately dedicates himself to a regional cuisine, combining innovative techniques with traditional flavors. It's very characteristic. Interesting? The tenacious curiosity that leads him to search for small, local producers, to find handmade, genuine and unique ingredients.

When he's not in the kitchen, Matteo loves to practice carp fishing, a type of fishing that requires patience and respect for the environment. Just the same qualities that are part of his art: the precious but simple honesty of country cooking.

La Cucina della Darbia

The restaurant is open to everyone, both to guests of La Darbia and to anyone wanting to try an exciting gastronomic experience on Lake Orta.
We are open Monday to Friday (dinner only), Saturday and Sunday (lunch and dinner).
Wednesday closed (weekly closing).

  • Children

    Children are welcome in our La Cucina. The quality of the raw materials and the simplicity of the workmanship make our dishes perfect for even the youngest palates. On request, we will be happy to reduce portions and serve simple dishes or seasoned only with oil and tomato.

  • Events

    Theme dinners, aperitifs or wine tasting, cold cuts and cheeses, even participation in the harvest: in La Darbia we continually think about how to make our guests' stay more pleasant and unique. Write to us at info@ladarbia.com for information on scheduled events.

OUR KITCHEN GARDEN

Seasonal, farm to table produce and respect for what nature has to offer us: our kitchen garden reflects the philosophy at La Darbia.

The vegetables and aromatic herbs, carefully selected and cultivated with exclusively organic methods, will in fact be part of the basic ingredients of the kitchen menu every day.

And when evening falls, the garden becomes the setting to stop and sip an aperitif or simply enjoy the spectacle of the sun descending behind Monte Rosa while its light dapples the waters of the lake.
