If you wish to experience the powerful emotion of flying at 120 Km per hour holding on to a steel cable, gliding like a swooping hawk, the Lago Maggiore ZIPline is an absolute must , a new frontier in adrenaline activities.
This modern cableway, reminiscent of the old means of transport used to connect mountains and their valleys below, has been installed on the hills above Verbania, on Alpe Segletta, close to Aurano, among the woods and mountains in the pristine, green land of Valle Intrasca.

This is how it works: the arrival area, which can be reached easily by car, is where you get your harness; from there you continue uphill in a comfortable shuttle to the departure point. You cling to the cable and slide for a minute and a half of pure, unadulterated pleasure at 350 metres above the ground while contemplating one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

You can also choose between two downhill rides, the so-called falcon-style in a horizonthal, tummy downwards position and the vertical, freestyle mode where it is possible to do flips in mid air. The scenery is stunning and the sensation of floating in an open empty space, caressed by the wind while flying in total safety, creates a stupendous emotion.

At the end of the experience you might like to stop by the bar “La Batùa” where you can taste excellent local food products while relaxing on the panoramic terrace immersed in the peace and quiet, typical of mountain pastures. The building itself is modern but perfectly well integrated in the Apine scenery. “La Rüzéla” is a chacteristic arts and crafts shop, which also sells food products, and is located close to the Lake Maggiore Zipline arrival station. You can find artisitic, handmade creations in wood or wax as well as a vast assortment of tasty specialities from the valley and Piedmont region, ranging from cheese through honey, herb teas, nut oils, grappa and herbal liqueurs.

Mountain lovers may complete the day by hiking along the marked trails, horse-riding in the midst of nature, riding their mountain bikes through fields and pasture land or rock climbing on the sheer cliff face overlooking Lake Maggiore.
