Spend a summer at the lake: diving, swimming, boat excursions and healthy beach life await us.
As I look down from the diving-board, I seem to travel back through the years, to that age when things are still done with a certain reckless unconsciousness ... But sometimes you have to recover the subtle thrill of the arduous undertaking. And so I decide, to throw myself: one, two three and ... splash! A splash and then the fresh water that welcomes me as I hold my nose, sink into the waves and resurface.
And then I look up and admire the vertical profile of the Lido di Gozzano diving-board, designed by the Milanese architect Mario Galvani in 1954 and recently renovated. About thirty meters from the shore, this lake diving-board (it seems to be the highest in Italy) awaits both more and less experienced divers who, with sinuous elegance or with some clumsy evolution, throw themselves into the void and then let themselves be embraced by the water.
Enjoying the lake has never been easier since you can practice many activities in and out of the water, such as renting a canoe, taking a diving course or experiencing the thrill of water skiing. You can also glide on the SUP or pedal on the lake surface thanks to a very light water bike.
And then, of course, you can rent a boat, because the lake can be better explored if you travel it "from the inside", when it reveals hidden and unspoiled corners, offers clearings from turquoise water, pontoons and docks, waterfalls and marinas, unexpected glimpses along the banks.
Even the beaches overlooking Lake Orta are truly delightful, corners of paradise that immediately “make“ a holiday: from Bagnera to Lido di Bagnella, from Boschina to Pettenasco, from the mouth of the Pescone to Ortello, from Pasture to Miami to Punta di Crabbia. Strips of sand, lawns or piers await us for an afternoon of sun and relaxation: bring a book, an Ipad or headphones for music, lie down comfortably and savor the rhythm of summer that pulsates around you. If you are a lover of comforts, there are also equipped beaches, with the possibility of renting sunbeds and umbrellas, listening to music and sipping aperitifs.
