This is the first post on La Darbia’s new blog.

It would have been easier to start with a nice list of things like: look how good we are, look how beautiful we are, what you will find, what we offer you, etc., but this would have been obvious, perhaps even a little cocky.

Therefore we decided to let the images of our lake, of our walls and of our windows speak, because we are convinced that the real beauty is in the simple things, and the charm of La Darbia is not in what there is, but in what is missing.

So, just to give you an idea of what we mean, we shall start by telling you what you don’t find at La Darbia:

- you don’t find precious marble, Persian carpets nor even exotic wood and mosaics; at La Darbia everything is built with the stone from our mountains and the wood from our forests;

- you don’t find a beauty farm nor a spa with Scandinavian sauna and oriental massage therapy; we can only offer sunshine, clean air, fresh water and some unforgettable sunsets;

- you don’t find a concierge or a sumptuous entrance –hall; at La Darbia you are welcomed on a bench in a green lawn under the shade of a hornbeam tree;

- and finally, you don’t find a Lounge Bar where you can enjoy oysters and champagne and please don’t ask us for Californian wines or Scotch whiskey; but you can drink a bottle of our wine with us and in September, if you wish, you can help us to harvest our Nebbiolo grapes.
